Skeleton Coast Safaris Skeleton Coast Safaris is owned and operated by the Schoeman family, who have been taking unique flying safaris up the Skeleton Coast since 1977. The Schoeman brothers continue the tradition of hosting soft adventure fly-in safaris to the Skeleton Coast National Park, Western Damaraland and Western Kaokoland of Namibia, all fragile and remote areas perfectly experienced from the air.
Flying over Namibia presents a beautiful birds-eye view of this magnificent country with is harsh desert scenery which appears soft and gentle from the air. The shapes and designs of the sand dunes and deep canyons compose a beautiful picture, a picture only seen from a few hundred feet above and an intense and true experience of Namibia.
There are three permanent, private exclusive desert camps strategically located, therefore enabling the company to use all three camps for a four day safari. Accommodation consists of dome tents furnished with comfortable beds, linen and bedside table. Blankets, towels, soap, shampoo, torches, etc. are also provided. Food is traditional colonial style and includes salads, freshly baked bread, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
Each flying safari includes short daily trips in a Cessna 210 air plane and also longer driven excursions by Landrover. Guests are able to cover great distances, distances that you cannot traverse by road. The driven excursions allow guests to explore various areas of interest in greater detail and at close range.
Each safari is lead by an experienced pilot-guide who has a wealth of knowledge about the areas visited - a unique feature- which in itself makes a tour with Skeleton Coast Safaris a totally unforgettable experience.
